How to Delete or Close Your FanDuel Account
Open FanDuel's account-closure instructions, then follow these steps:
- Log in to FanDuel and open the Account screen.
- Scroll to Settings under the Account menu.
- Select Account Controls and Closure, then select Deactivate.
- Choose a reason and follow the on-screen prompts to submit the deactivation request.
Before confirming: withdraw any remaining funds and save the records you need. FanDuel describes deactivation as permanently closing the account. Returning players must contact support to reactivate the original account rather than create another one.
Closing a different product? Fantasy and Sports Network instructions are below. Name Casino separately if you also want it included.
Deactivate Your FanDuel Account #
FanDuel's current account-closure article publishes the account route above. It tells users to withdraw remaining funds first and describes deactivation as permanent account closure. FanDuel Predicts goes directly to an account-deactivation page after the same Account Controls and Closure selection.
We verified the published steps on September 12, 2026, without signing in or submitting a request. Menus can differ by product, jurisdiction, account state, and app version. Ask support which products will close, when the change takes effect, and how to obtain later settlement updates or records. If you need a gambling-access restriction for a defined term, review self-exclusion separately.
FanDuel's Indiana Sportsbook terms, section 20, expressly direct account-closure and closed-account funds requests to Customer Service. Other states have their own terms. We have not tested closure inside a signed-in US Sportsbook account or established one ordinary-closure rule for open bets across all states.
You can use this message:
Please close my FanDuel Sportsbook account. I use Sportsbook in [US state]. Please confirm which other FanDuel products this will affect, how I can recover eligible funds, what will happen to existing wagers and pending withdrawals, and how I can obtain transaction records and tax documents after closure. Please send written confirmation and a case reference.
Add Casino or Fantasy only if relevant to you. Provide account-verification information through FanDuel's official process, and keep passwords and verification codes private. You do not need to share account details with Detachr.
If you cannot sign in or find the control
The public Contact us page provides the chat entry point and a Send us an email option. Tell support that you cannot access the account and need closure, funds or records assistance. We verified the chat form opening, without submitting personal details or testing the agent conversation. Account verification and completion still depend on FanDuel's process.
Preserve Your Money and Records #
Before access changes, save copies of the balance, deposit and withdrawal history, existing bet references, settlement history and tax documents you already have. Keep them somewhere you can reach without the gambling app. If collecting records would draw you into betting again, ask support to supply them.
FanDuel's withdrawal guidance distinguishes eligible winnings from unused deposits and promotional credit. Available payment methods depend on product and location.
- Eligible winnings: request a withdrawal using an available method.
- Unused deposits: ask about a refund to the original payment method.
- Bonus Bets and promotional funds: the guidance says these cannot be withdrawn or refunded. Leave unused promotions alone; do not place another wager to use them.
- A pending withdrawal or inaccessible balance: give support the transaction reference and ask for its status and the next required action.
Do not make another deposit to unlock a withdrawal method. Ask support for an available refund or withdrawal route that does not require new gambling activity. The official withdrawal page lists some methods that do not require a prior deposit, subject to availability.
If the account is already closed, ask support for the money and documents directly. The Indiana Sportsbook terms, sections 9 and 20, cover requests for closed-account funds, tax forms and transaction records, with conditions and possible investigation holds. This is an Indiana example, without a promise of an automatic refund or a nationwide payment deadline.
Ask About Existing Bets Before Assuming They Disappear #
Closing an account should never be treated as a way to cancel a losing bet. FanDuel's Sportsbook wager-cancellation article says customers cannot cancel or void a wager once placed. Settlement and operator voiding rules are separate.
The published consequences differ by action:
| Action | What the official guidance establishes |
|---|---|
| Ordinary closure or deactivation | The general closure article asks users to withdraw funds first. It does not explain one US-wide rule for existing Sportsbook bets. Ask support about your bet references and state. |
| Timeout | Active and pending sports wagers remain active and settle according to their outcomes. Withdrawals during a timeout require contacting support. |
| Self-exclusion | Active and pending wagers are settled under state or provincial regulations. The article does not promise identical treatment everywhere. |
| Daily Fantasy during timeout or self-exclusion | Upcoming Daily Fantasy entries are canceled. This statement concerns contest entries, and does not establish Sportsbook bet cancellation. |
Sources: account closure, timeout effects, and self-exclusion effects.
Ask how support will notify you of settlement and return any eligible funds after access ends. Avoid further wagers, deposits or attempts to recover a loss while this is resolved. You can ask for access restrictions and financial follow-up in the same conversation.
Choose Closure, Timeout or Self-Exclusion Deliberately #
Closure or deactivation addresses the account you want to stop using. FanDuel describes deactivation as permanent closure, but that wording does not establish an irreversible gambling restriction. Do not assume ordinary closure provides the same safeguards as self-exclusion. FanDuel account closure.
Timeout is a temporary access restriction. FanDuel says the account automatically becomes available again when the chosen period ends, so keep that end date in mind if you want to stop gambling for longer. Available durations and navigation vary by product and jurisdiction. FanDuel timeout guidance.
Self-exclusion restricts access for a chosen period under the applicable terms. FanDuel directs users to Responsible Gaming or User Tools, then Self-Exclusion, and warns that options and navigation vary. Read the scope, duration and wager conditions before submitting; use support if you cannot access the form. FanDuel self-exclusion guidance.
FanDuel says these settings, including deactivation, extend to other eligible FanDuel products. Its Taking a Break article does not supply an exhaustive product-by-state list. Ask whether Sportsbook, Casino and Fantasy are included in your case. Do not assume a restriction reaches every operator, retail venue or state program. For jurisdiction-wide options, use the self-exclusion directory.
Keep Fantasy and Sports Network Separate #
FanDuel Fantasy
For a Fantasy account, identify Fantasy when using the general closure instructions or contacting support. Ask about entered contests, eligible funds and other linked products. The cancellation of upcoming Fantasy entries documented for timeout and self-exclusion should not be extended to ordinary closure without confirmation.
FanDuel Sports Network
For television billing, go to FanDuel Sports Network's current help page. It directs subscribers to cancel through the platform where they purchased the subscription, such as the website, Apple, Google Play or Roku.
The older Sports Network account-deletion article redirected to that help page during our September 8 check. The current page provides subscription-cancellation instructions and says a support team is unavailable. We could not verify a current Sports Network account-deletion procedure. Canceling a TV subscription does not establish closure of a Sportsbook or Casino account, or deletion of personal data.
Request Personal-Data Deletion Separately #
Account closure does not establish that FanDuel has erased your history. The Sportsbook privacy policy, sections 7 and 8, explains that records can remain after termination for legal, regulatory, recordkeeping and other stated purposes.
For a privacy request, start with the policy for your jurisdiction. The Sportsbook privacy page links to state-specific terms; section 11 of its general policy links to a PRIVACY REQUEST FORM. Rights and exemptions depend on jurisdiction, and identity verification may be required. Ask which information can be deleted and which records must be retained. Save the financial records you need before requesting deletion.
Remove Betting Shortcuts After the Account Request #
Once you have a closure or restriction request and a way to follow up on money and records, remove the gambling app, saved betting links and promotional notifications. Keep support confirmations and financial documents. Deleting an app alone is not evidence that the account has closed.
Use the relevant Mac, Windows, iPhone or Android guide for device controls. Device protection is an additional action; it cannot complete FanDuel's closure or refund process for you.
