Kansas Casino and Sports Betting Self-Exclusion

Kansas has separate exclusion processes for state-owned casinos and state-regulated sports wagering. The casino program requires an in-person application and does not cover tribal casinos. The sports wagering program uses a form and secure document upload to restrict every sports wagering application under Kansas Racing and Gaming Commission jurisdiction.

How to Apply for Both Kansas Exclusions

Use the casino process, the sports wagering process, or both. One application does not replace the other.

  1. Decide whether you need the casino exclusion, the sports wagering exclusion, or both
  2. For casino exclusion, apply in person with government-issued photo identification at a KRGC office inside a state-owned casino, or call 785-296-5800 for an appointment at the Topeka office
  3. For sports wagering exclusion, download the current Sports Wagering Exclusion Form and prepare a clear image of your government-issued photo identification
  4. Email the KRGC contact listed on the sports wagering program page to request secure upload access; do not attach the form or identification to ordinary email
  5. Use the separate password and Serv-U link sent by KRGC to upload the completed form and identification image, then keep the confirmation
  6. Contact each tribal casino separately if you also need a property or sportsbook restriction there

Removal, Expiry, and Account Reopening

Casino exclusion does not end automatically. After at least two years, a participant may petition the KRGC Executive Director and must complete an approved problem gambling assessment and education program. Approval is not automatic. The sports wagering page says the selected term must be completed and early removal is unavailable; confirm the end-of-term process with KRGC before choosing a term.

Important Notes

The current KRGC casino program page, sample application, and removal regulation describe a two-year or lifetime choice and removal eligibility after two years. A separate KRGC FAQ still says a five-year minimum. Confirm the current casino term with KRGC before signing. Neither the casino program nor the sports wagering program covers tribal casinos, gambling outside Kansas, or unregulated sites.
