Gambling self-exclusion in Canada

Canada does not have one self-exclusion list for every province and gambling product. Provincial programs can separate online accounts, casinos, gaming halls, lottery products, video lottery terminals, racing, and First Nations venues. Start with your province and the gambling routes you actually use.

Choose a verified province guide

These guides have a current official action, term, coverage rule, and exit process. The first steps appear before the longer program details.

Other official routes and local help

These resources include shared online controls, venue contacts, and support services. Each has a different role and coverage. No territorial enrollment program was verified for Northwest Territories or Nunavut in this review. Sources checked September 26, 2026.

Atlantic Canada online accounts

For an existing alc.ca account, open My Account, then Take a Break. The online break is separate from casino, retail lottery, and video lottery controls in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador, and PEI. Read the operator's explanation before confirming.

New Brunswick casino assistance

Call the Responsible Gaming Information Centre at 506-861-4699 for Casino New Brunswick's voluntary self-exclusion process. Its centre is outside the casino in the pedway. Ask for the agreement, terms, and return rules; an enquiry does not enroll you or cover Grey Rock.

Grey Rock Casino

Grey Rock has its own voluntary self-exclusion program. Call 506-735-2820 and ask staff how to enroll, which areas are covered, and what the term and return rules are. Do not assume a Casino New Brunswick or alc.ca exclusion includes this venue.

Newfoundland and Labrador support

Call 811 for free, confidential gambling support, available province-wide 24/7. For an alc.ca account, use the separate online break above. That account control does not establish a ban on physical VLT play, retail tickets, or charitable gambling.

Yukon: Diamond Tooth Gerties

The venue offers voluntary self-exclusion. Ask its staff about enrollment or call 867-993-5575. Request the term, identification, and return requirements before signing. This is a venue contact, not a Yukon-wide gambling ban.

Northwest Territories support

Call 811 and press 1, or call 1-844-259-1793, for confidential mental-health and addiction-recovery guidance, available 24/7. This service provides support; it does not enroll you in a gambling exclusion. Ask individual gambling operators about their own arrangements.

Nunavut information and support

Consumer Affairs provides responsible-gaming information at 1-866-223-8139. For general support, Kamatsiaqtut is available 24/7 at 1-800-265-3333. Neither contact is a verified territorial self-exclusion application; licensing forms are for operators, not players seeking a ban.

Nunavut also lists Kamatsiaqtut on its official health support page. For Diamond Tooth Gerties, use the venue contact details.

Check these details before enrolling

  1. 1

Confirm whether the request covers online gambling, physical venues, or both.

  2. 2

Check the exact operator, casino, gaming hall, lottery, racing, and video lottery products named by the program.

  3. 3

Read the minimum term and the steps required after the term ends. Some programs remain active until a written removal request is accepted.

  4. 4

Save the confirmation and add account, payment, and device barriers for anything outside the program's scope.
